Ms. Diana Richards: The Interview

  • Discovering Matures: Thanks for taking the time for an interview with Discovering Matures, we've been a big fans of yours since first seeing you in such mature classics as Aged to Perfection and the Return of the Fabulous 50s Girls. How did you get started doing movies?
  • Diana Richards: How did I get started ? Back in the 90's I loved to have guys take sexy pics of me.It was a big turn-on for me. One guy asked if he could send some pics to some mens magazine, they had a "girl next door" section. One day I got a check in the mail for $500 from Gent magazine for pics for a layout. The comments I got from reader and friends convinced me to go into nude modeling and then into the Porn Business. I had an interview with a talent agent. He was very impressed with my portfolio. I was shocked when he asked for a blow job but then thought that was part of the business. I must have done good because he hooked me up with Loretta Sterling and the rest is history.
  • DM: In your movies you performed scenes including oral, anal, gang bangs, DP, you name of it. Have you always been as sexually adventurous in real life as you showed in your movies?
  • DR: You know I probably was not as adventurous in private life (i. e. swinging) but always had a fantasy of being fucked by a black guy and doing anal and getting fucked but multiple partners at the same time. Once I started I could not get enough of it. I love being on camera and having multiple orgasms. This was the best of both worlds I love being the center of attention and everyone watching me perform.
  • DM: Did you have any concerns about getting into the porn business?
  • DR: I didn't want to have any restrictions going in so I said I would do anything. Making it kind of exciting. I had never done girl-girl before so thought that I would be uneasy in the scene. All the girls were so nice I had no trouble and really got into it. I still enjoy it to this day. Anal wasn't new to me but doing it on camera became a big rush for me especially DP. I loved it very much.
  • DM: Who were some of your favorite performers to work with?
  • DR: My first love in the business was Mike Horner. I will never forget him, he was wonderful. I loved working with Darren James, Tony Everready, Byron Long and Dave Hardman. I loved Kitty Foxx very much. I would go to her home in Las Vegas and we would shoot scenes for her "Kinky Kapers" and my "Ms. Richards" series. Stormy Gale, Jenny Joyce, Jenny Lewis as well as Ashley Shye became great friends as well as partners.
  • DM: You and a number of other ladies were true pioneers of mature women in adult movies. Sadly, Kitty Foxx has past away, but do you still keep in touch with any of the ladies you started working with in the early 1990s?
  • DR: Sorry to say Kitty Foxx was the only one I kept in contact with. When she went into a coma and her husband Al passed my interest in the business kind of went down. Moving out to Palm Desert made it difficult to set up shoots and driving into Los Angeles became a drag. That is when I decided to retire from the active part of the business.
  • DM: Were you ever asked to do something that went beyond your own personal limits?
  • DR: Fortunately I never was asked to do anything that I did not feel comfortable doing. I consider myself a classy lady and always wanted to look that way.
  • DM: What were some of your personal highlights in your career?
  • DR: I loved seeing my picture on the  video box covers and the magazine layouts. That was a real rush. I loved C.E.S. signing the slicks and meeting and spending quality time with fans of my work. Initially I enjoyed all the first class trips all over the U.S. and overseas. Seems I was gone 2 weeks a month shooting scenes and going to classy parties. Everywhere I went there was always a camera on me. I was treated like a queen. They called me "Lady Di". I would perform in private the same way I did if I was in front of the camera. No one was disappointed after spending time with "Lady Di". In time the traveling escort scene became too demanding and i cut that part way back. Frequent trips to Hawaii was always great. In Richards # 7 I shot a scene in a jungle on Oahu.
  • DM: How about the least favorite of your career?
  • DR: Loosing my best friend Kitty Foxx was a real tragedy. I was shocked when my friend Darren James was diagnosed with the HIV virus. Made everyone in the industry take notice.
  • DM: Do people still recognize you today?
  • DR: Funny you should ask. One day I was laying out at the pool in my condo complex when the pool cleaning guy kept looking over at me with those, I've seen you somewhere, eyes. Finally he came over and asked if I was Diana Richards. He thought he died and went to heaven. He was a big fan of my work. Naturally I invited him to my condo when he was off work so he could live out his fantasy. I still see him on occasion Another time I was having some remodeling done in my condo and the guy putting in the new doors kept looking over at me. He finally asked if I was Diana Richards. He had about 12 of my videos and loved my breasts. Naturally I showed them to him and l let him touch them. We then spent 2 hours in the bedroom until the foreman arrived and told him to get back to work. He and the foreman were frequent visitors to my home over the period of 3 years. There are others but we can talk about them on another interview. I frequently get eye fucked at the mall. I know they know but are afraid to ask. Too bad for them.
  • DM: What's the reaction when someone today discovers your work - positive or negative?
  • DR: The reaction is always positive because those who recognize are lovers of the art and don't look down on me. My kids found out when one of there friend saw me on the "Rolanda Show". We joke about it now but back when I was active they didn't say much.
  • DM: Your work on film shows you genuinely exuberance - did you really love the sex as much as it showed in your films?
  • DR: Most definitely. I never faked anything I enjoyed it all. That is why people love my work so much. I wanted every scene to be perfect. I would do what ever the director wanted even if the position I was in hurt like hell. I loved the business and wanted to always do my best. It was all fun.
  • DM: What are you up to these days?
  • DR: I have my name on a few adult sites amateur.com and untrue.com as well as a fan club. I answer all my mail myself, that keeps me pretty busy. I converted all my VHS to DVD'd as well as putting over 2000 pictures on discs and SD cards. I have a red 1955 Chevrolet classic car that I take to car shows. I fell in love with classic cars when we did the "Fabulous 50 Girls" series. I do a lot of shopping and lunch with my friends.
  • DM: Any thoughts or plans of doing more films?
  • DR: I have no interest to do anymore films. As Clint Eastwood said in "Dirty Harry","a man has to know his limitations". I went into the business to have fun which I did. Money was never the reason even though it was good at times . I got out in 2003 after 13 years. I am glad that people still comment on how much they enjoy my work.
  • DM: I'll let you turn the tables - do you have any questions for us?
  • DR: No real questions for you and your viewers only to say I hope they enjoyed my work and to keep watching us mature ladies do our thing.
  • DM: Any final thoughts or comments for your fans?
  • DR: Just let my fans know that I love them and to email me at any time dirtydiana_47@hotmail.com I would love to have them join my fan club or just chit chat.
